| ~ ~ TEACUP AND TINY TOY PUPPY CARE INFORMATION ~ ~ This information will help you with the first few weeks with your new teacup Yorkie , teacup Maltese or teacup Pomeranian . Because of their small size, the teacup and tiny toy puppies must replenish their energy source more often than a large breed puppy. The best way to do this is to make sure the teacup Yorkie , teacup Maltese or teacup Pomeranian puppies eat 3 to 4 times a day. Tiny puppies eat smaller amounts at one time, so they will need puppy food more often. It is important not to change the teacup puppies type of food for the first few weeks. When you do, you need to slowly make the change by mixing the new food in with their old food type over a period of 3 to 4 days to gradually make the change. Teacup Yorkshire Terrier puppies, Biewer Parti Yorkies, Teacup Maltese puppies and Teacup Pomeranian puppies are stressed when they change their environment. Taking a teacup puppy from its mother and siblings to a new home is very stressful to a tiny puppy. It is important to make the teacup puppy feel safe in a quite location with no loud noises or high activity. Play time for a teacup Yorkie puppy, teacup Maltese puppy, tiny Biewer Parti Yorkie puppy or teacup Pomeranian puppy should be limited to 10 to 15 minutes a couple of times a day to reduce the risk of low sugar. Keep them confined in an small area for the first few weeks in their new home. Housebreaking will be much easier too, if they are not allowed to roam around the entire house. An infant playpen is perfect for the new tiny puppy. Keeping your teacup puppy in a closed small room like the bathroom also works well for the first few weeks. Make sure your new teacup puppy has fresh water and food available at all times. |
